The city that learns: Education as the foundation of liveability
The core message of the session was that education is not merely a public or private service families consume, but a foundational part of a city’s liveability infrastructure. The moderator, Laura Buckwell, framed the discussion around a practical question: what changes when cities treat education as part of the city itself? His Excellency Mohamed Al Qadi answered by linking Abu Dhabi’s liveability agenda directly to its ability to attract and retain families, talent, businesses, and long-term residents. He argued that Abu Dhabi’s appeal rests not only on business opportunity and a strong labour market, but also on the conditions that allow families to prosper: healthcare, safety, leisure, entertainment, education, facilities, and infrastructure.
